Project Coordination and Management

Many tree projects extend beyond traditional arboriculture and require coordination between property owners, designers, architects, contractors, nurseries, and maintenance teams.

With extensive experience in horticulture, estate management, and arboriculture, I help guide projects from planning through installation and establishment. This includes coordinating the people and resources involved, identifying potential site problems, and helping ensure that trees are properly installed and successfully established.

Large Tree Procurement and Installation

My experience includes complex large tree procurement and installation projects, including the sourcing, logistics, and installation of more than 100 specimen box trees over 60 inches in size on an active construction site in Montecito.

The project involved multiple nurseries, transportation companies, cranes, and extensive soil and drainage preparation. All trees were successfully established, with no losses reported five years after installation.

Large tree installations require careful preparation, coordination, and site planning. Successful establishment depends not only on proper planting, but also on close monitoring during the critical establishment period. Trees of this size should not simply be left to automated irrigation systems. They require active monitoring and adjustments based on soil moisture, drainage, weather, and the individual needs of each tree.
